Blue green Winter. It is long, strong and upright withstanding frosts and standing overwinter.
This variety is a newly bred variety. It has been cultivated organically from the outset and is designed to give professional gardeners an alternative to hybrid varieties. It is reproducible and fertile.
How to grow:
Sow seeds in deep pots thickly under cover in March or sow in beds outside April and May. Once they’re about 7-8″ tall separate them out gently and drop into holes in a veg bed outside about 6″ deep and 10″ apart in rows 16″ apart. Water in well, and feed well.
Problem solving:
Leeks are pretty easy to grow. Keep surrounding area free of weeds that attract rust.
Favourite ways to eat them:
Sauteed with onion and kale, olive oil and salt. The bedrock of stews with potato, parsley, carrot and anything else you love, divine in stews and casseroles.

A cultivar of the native broad leaf leek, Allium ampeloprasum, native to southern Europe and Asia.
