Organic Cauliflower: Snowball. Brassica oleracea.
An all season cauliflower. We grew this for our vegetable boxes, popular with us and our customers, great taste, compact growing habit and does well in our climate.
How to grow:
Sow in October in modules undercover, plant out in March for a June harvest and also sow from February in modules undercover or start sowing outside in seed drills April and May, transplant at about 12cms tall, to harvest June to September.
Keep an eye on them coming up to harvest time as they mature quickly in the end.
Usual slug and pigeon problems when young, and caterpillars in summer, keep well weeded and cover them with enviromesh or something like it.
Favourite ways to eat them:
So many ways to eat lovely cauliflower. Make it tiny and use as vegan rice. Scrummy in a curry. Good pickled.
Cauliflower derives its name from cavolfiore meaning cabbage flower.
Avg contents: 125 seeds.
