Organic Common Wormwood, Artemisia absinthium is an upright woody-based perennial. A herbaceous composite plant that is a is a species of Artemisia from the Asteraceae family.  A traditional medicinal plant with a high content of bitter substances that can support digestive processes. It is usually grown as an ornamental plant. It has silver-gray, feathery foliage with small pale yellow flowers and fibrous roots. More well known for being an ingredient of the alcoholic drink, absinthe.

How to grow

Sow outdoors in April and May for bloom July to September. Drought Tolerant once established and Frost Hardy. Performs best in full sun in poor to moderately fertile, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils.

Problem solving

Wormwood is fairly resistant to most diseases but it can on occasion have fungal problems usually in the form or White rust ,Downy mildew, Powdery mildew and Fungal leaf and stem rots especially in overly moist sites. Excellent soil drainage is essential.
