Organic Endive: Wallonne. Cichorium endivia var crispum.
A curly type that grows vigerously. Late summer, autumn and winter growing season.
How to grow:
Sow in Feb/April for harvest 10 – 12 weeks later. For autumn winter harvesting sow from July onwards, harvest time takes longer the cooler it gets. Avoid sowing After April as it will most likely bolt. Slightly frost hardy.
Keep slugs off when young.
Favourite ways to eat them:
Steam and garnish with oil and salt or fry lightly with olive oil and garlic and serve as a side.
