How to grow:
Good as an undercrop or catch crop as they grow quickly. Sow thinly directly into the seed bed at a depth of 1cm with 20cms between rows. Timing: inside in February and outside direct from April successionally up until the end of August. They germinate quickly and are ready in 3 – 5 weeks. Keep watered as necessary. Harvesting until the end of September.
Problem solving:
Because they grow fast they’re really problem free.
Favourite ways to eat them:
Raw in salads, sliced or grated gives a hotish twang to your salad. Also great for garnish. Can also be added to stews where they retain their crunchy flavour and losing a lot of their heat, which is nice if you don’t like them so hot.
Cultural history:
Domesticated in Asia prior to Roman times.
Avg contents: 4.5g (~600 seeds).
